Morton Grove to host open bowling tournament

The Amateur Bowlers Tour - Midwest Branch will host the Classic Bowl, No-Tap $1K Tournament next month for any interested bowlers in Morton Grove.

As the parent company of Western States Open Bowling, the Amateur Bowlers Tour (ABT) serves as the largest and most well-organized bowling tournament club in the county. Members of the club are guaranteed a minimum first place prize in the Classic Division when they enter tournaments. The Classic Bowl is unique also in that participants do not need to be members of the bowling club to compete and win prizes. The tournament follows the rule of “no-tap,” which in bowling refers to calling it a strike when a player knocks down nine pins with the first ball rather than a tap.

There will be a handicap tournament and a scratch tournament. The handicap tournament will have three games of no tap scoring with a beat-the-board event, with ABT bowlers using current ABT average and no bonus pins. The scratch tournament will also have three no-tap scoring games.

Brochures may be useful for advertising for such a tournament, with organizers utilizing local brochure printing services to create detailed Brochures to hand out.

The Classic Bowl Tournament is scheduled for this Sunday, June 1, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. It will be held at 8530 Waukegan Road. Payouts will be made on the same day.
