Morton Grove to celebrate tiny European nation

The 84th Schobermesse Festival, an event which occurs annually, will take place in early August.

The organizer of the festival, The Luxembourg Brotherhood of America (LBA), along with its featured sponsor, Ansay International, hosts this event each year in order to celebrate the culture and the sense of community within the group, and to educate those around them.

The European state of Luxembourg is one of the smallest countries in the world, but has a rich history and a wide variety of people and cultures. Anyone interested in learning about this micronation is welcome to attend.

There will be plenty of activities for every age, although attendees are asked to bring their own tables and chairs to the event. There will be food and drinks available to purchase, as well as the famous “Wheel of Meat,” an LBA tradition.

Live music will be performed by Devon DeLux. There will also be activities for children, as well as cash raffles for various prizes. There will also be a Baggo Tournament, likely including some Promotional Products as a prize.

The day will take place on the grounds of the Morton Grove American Legion Civic Center. The events are from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm. The Schobermesse Festival is currently set to occur on August 1.
