The Morton Grove Public Library is holding an event for those over 50 that will bring back memories of their childhood schooldays - a spelling bee.
Those who take part will be able to go through three levels of competition. There will be local bees, as well as regional and state varieties. Two practice sessions have also been scheduled to help people learn the ropes and refresh their memories. Participation in these sessions is not required to take part in the actual competition.
While it is a contest, the library also wants those who come out to have a good time. There will even be prizes for the winners, and Culver’s of Morton Grove has offered to cosponsor the event. Along with the their prize, both the winner and runner-up will be able to move on to the next level, which is the Regional Spelling Bee planned for later this year. Custom Drinkware, such as coffee Mugs, can be designed to be given out to all those who choose to participate in an event such as this.
The first practice session for the bee will be held on February 11, and the second on March 9, at 10:00 am at the library. The main event is set for March 16, also at 10:00 am. Those who would like to register can do so by calling 847-929-5101 or the library’s website.Get a Free Quote for Drinkware Get a Free Quote for Mugs
