Morton Grove picnic to foster community collaboration

This July, the Vision Morton Grove Annual Picnic will take place to provide a chance for the community to come together, learn about Vision Morton Grove’s mission, and to inspire each other with engaging, proactive discussions.

Vision Morton Grove (VMG) is comprised of a group of Morton Grove residents that have teamed up to tackle issues relating to welcoming communities, racial equality, environmental sustainability, fair housing, comprehensive public planning, and many more related issues. The group has regularly scheduled meetings to discuss relevant topics and organizes community events to engage other members of the community.

The picnic in July will allow interested residents to meet the VMG members and learn about efforts to make the community more welcoming, diverse, and inclusive. There will be an update on VMG’s activities and information on how people can get involved. There will also be live music from saxophonist Aaron Segal, as well as free water and snacks. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food and drink to enjoy and share.

Community events often take place in outside venues, such as parks, which can be decorated with Banners that organizers can get printed at local shops offering banner printing services.

The picnic is scheduled for July 14 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. It will take place at Linne Woods Shelter Site #2, which is located at 6300 Dempster Street.
