Morton Grove Outdoor Farmers Market bids farewell for another year

The Morton Grove Farmers’ Market recently held its last outdoor marketplace of the 2015 season.

To help mark the occasion, children were invited to come out dressed in their Halloween costumes. There was a costume contest, and they could stop at the welcome booth to get a special treat and have their pictures taken. There was also live entertainment provided by Antonio Duca and draws for a variety of prizes.

Many vendors came out to take part in this last outdoor event for 2015, and the items on offer ranged from baked goods to fresh local fruits and vegetables, crafts, knitted items, honey and beeswax, treats for pets, eggs, meats and sausages, cheese, gourmet coffee, snacks, and even fresh pasta.

Thought the summer and autumn season for the market has come to a close, the winter market will soon be opening its doors to the public, and several of the same vendors will offer their items for sale then as well. The first of these is scheduled to take place on December 5th at the Morton Grove Civic Center. Banners can be used to decorate the location, welcome the public back for another year and to thank them for their continued support.

Both the summer and winter markets are made available through the efforts of the Morton Grove Chamber of Commerce and Industry and businesses or organizations that choose to sponsor them.
