A local venue will be holding a party to celebrate a twist on an annual holiday in Morton Grove in mid-November. Two total events will be held.
Friendsgiving is a version of the Thanksgiving holiday where people have a meal with their pals and “chosen family” rather than following the traditional practices. With this particular meal, the chefs will be taking classic foods from the typical menu and transforming them into new and exciting dishes.
Cooper’s Hawk is a restaurant and winery with locations in several states. The “Friendsgiving” event at the local location is one of its “wine club pairing dinners.” The Wine Club is a subscription starting at $21.99 that includes exclusive perks. The dinners are an opportunity for club members and those curious about the idea to get together and try out a unique experience.
The courses being served include a cranberry spritz beverage, corn bread with a sweet butter, a roasted root veggie chowder, truffle and mushroom arancini, pretzel and maple crusted pork chops, roasted brussels sprouts with pancetta, mashed sweet potatoes, a cranberry and apple crostata, almond caramel, and vanilla ice cream. These will be paired with some of the Cooper’s Hawk wine varieties.
Tickets are $69 and can be purchased through Eventbrite for both nights of the experience. Flyer printing is often used to promote local businesses and their special events.
The dinners be on November 14 and 15, running from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm each evening.
