As a part of the Illinois Brewery Running Series, Sketchbook Brewing Co. in the Skokie and Morton Grove areas will host the 5K Beer Run next month.
The Illinois Brewery Running Series began by hosting one 5K in Minneapolis in honor of Global Running Day, and now the event series has expanded to over 300 running events every year across 20-plus states. Each race is a 5K-ish fun run course that starts and finishes at a designated local brewery. The upcoming July event will begin and finish at Sketchbook Brewing Co.
The run will be untimed and open to runners and walkers of all levels and abilities. It will weave throughout the Skokie and Morton Grove neighborhoods, just outside of Chicago. No roads will be closed for the event, so participants will need to be aware and in compliance with all traffic and road laws. The course will have arrow markers to point runners in the correct direction.
Participants 21 and older will receive a free beer from Sketchbook Brewing, as well as their choice of seasonal swag from the Brewery Running series, or a collector’s pint glass with the event Logo Design engraved on it.
The brewery run is scheduled for July 23, beginning at 10:30 am. Sketchbook Brewing can be found at 4901 Main Street, Skokie. Event registration is $35.
