Morton Grove: a great place to raise kids

Morton Grove has been named the 3rd best place in the United States to raise your kids. The 6th annual Best Places to Raise your Kids 2012 has recently been announced by Businessweek.com; it is based on the Bloomberg Rankings and Onboard Informatics; one city from each state is chosen.

Various criteria on which cities are judges include; a crime rate less than 10% above the national average, a median family income, educational levels, amenities offered such as community and day care centers air quality, ethnic diversity, job growth, schools and city expenditures. School scores and job growth held the most weight in the decision.

It was reported in the findings that 40.7% of the population of Morton Grove have a bachelor’s degree or higher and that the average family income is $83,601.

Morton Grove is a community that keeps its citizens informed. The Morton Grove Exchange Newsletter which keeps residents updated on the latest news from the community is published 4 times a year and the official website has numerous information pages; they also provide full access to financial documents. It might be in the city’s best interest to work with printing companies to design a flyer to send out to all residents announcing this ranking. It not only raises the pride people have in their community, it also gives them something to aspire to; who says the city can’t do better when the 2013 list comes out? Businesses will no doubt be drawn to Morton Grove because of this ranking which will further increase the job growth potential.
