Morton Grove chamber elects new executive members

The Morton Grove Chamber of Commerce recently made additions to the officers of its Board of Directors.

The latest members of the Chamber’s executive were sworn into their positions during their annual party to mark the holiday season. The ceremony was performed by local attorney Frank Tenant.

Next year will be the 90th anniversary for the organization, and its new President Mark Albers placed his goals before its members after the swearing in. He noted that he would like to see the establishment of a much closer relationship with those who live in Morton Grove and remarked that this will go a long way towards fostering further business growth in the community.

He further went on to say that he wants to see the return of the Chamber’s Expo, bring back the practice of recognizing those individuals and businesses in the area who go above and beyond, and also see the revival of some of the local traditions that have fallen by the wayside, such as ‘Santa Coming to Town’. A newsletter printing company can produce materials that keep residents up to date with what the chamber is doing to make it a better place, and how they can get involved should they choose to do so.

Other new members of the governing board include Mike Simkins, who is Vice President, Jeanie Como who is past president, and treasurer, Dr. Robert Antman, who is now secretary.
