Country and blues stars to perform

Musicians across multiple genres will be taking the stage in early July for a show sure to entertain Morton Grove residents.

Headlining the upcoming Ravinia Festival is Sheryl Crow, who has dropped nine records in her career and earned a multitude of achievements. These include multiple Grammy Awards and chart topping hits. Some of her songs include “All I Wanna Do,” “Soak Up The Sun,” “Still The Same,” and “Callin’ Me When I’m Lonely,” as well as the theme for the James Bond film “Tomorrow Never Dies.”

Also on the billing is Keb’ Mo’, who has been in the industry for decades. He has worked with and had his music sampled by artists such as The Chicks, B. B. King, Willie Nelson, BTS, and Bonnie Raitt. Other achievements include releasing guitars with major brands Martin and Gibson, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association, appearances in both TV and movies, and work composing music for both as well.

The performance at the Ravinia Festival will also feature Southern Avenue, a soul blues group formed in 2015.

The concert is a part of the series run by the Ravinia non-profit that benefits musical students with the funds it gathers each summer. Tickets are between $49 and $140 if bought in advance, or $5 extra on the day of the concert. The show is set to start at 6:30 pm on Thursday, July 7. The venue is located in Highland Park.
