Chicago area to host Pow Wow this September

The 61st annual American Indian Pow Wow is taking place over two days this September in Elk Grove Village. The event is hosted by the American Indian Center of Chicago.

The Pow Wow will feature native dances, drumming, films, and entertainment such as a Hawaiian and Filipino dance exhibitions. There will also be archery and an arts and crafts marketplace. There are set to be two grand entries of performers offering intertribal dancing. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs to enjoy the events. The marketplace will be offering traditional and contemporary works of art, including jewelry, sculptures, and clothing.

In addition, there will also be a 5K run/walk on the first day of the Pow Wow. Participation fees are $30 per person, $45 for a family, or $15 for American Indian Center members.

Visitors will likely come from all over the Chicago area, including from Morton Grove, to experience this event. Local Print companies may help to market it by supplying items like Flyers and Brochures.

The American Indian Pow Wow will be held at Busse Woods in Elk Grove Village from September 13th to 14th from 10:00am - 8:00pm. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students, seniors, and military personnel, and free for children aged five and under. Call 772-275-5871 for more information.
