The one change that is likely to have the biggest effect on residents is the discontinuation of route 210. Residents from Morton Grove who would like to petition to Pace to keep specific routes open can leave their messages at www.pacebus.com. When speaking about the closure of Route 210, Dan DiMaria who is the Village President said:
“Many of our residents may be familiar with this route as it connects Glenbrook Hospital to Lincolnwood Town Center with stops down Waukegan, across Dempster, down Ferris and over to Lincoln.”
Maggie Daly Skogsbakken, who is Pace’s spokeswoman, mentioned that ridership rates are down all over the system and especially so on the 210 route. Pace wants to remove the route and several others so that it can start offering services on new routes that have more demand. Skogsbakken also mentioned that even though the 210 is to be eliminated, there are still five other routes that people in Morton Grove can use. Buses going on particular routes can often be identified with the graphic designs printed on them.
The new routes are scheduled to start running in August. Further changes could be made based on feedback the bus company receives before then.
