Bike camping event to occur near Morton Grove

Morton Grove families interested in getting involved in biking should note that Out Our Front Door will hold the Bike Camping in the City: Family Campout 2023 event this June.

Out Our Front Door is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the culture, history, native habitats, and trails of the Lower Lake Michigan Basin Area. The bike camping event was created to show community members that it is possible and even desirable to bike camp in Chicago and the surrounding areas, such as Morton Grove.

The two-night, three-day bike ride and camp will take place throughout the northwest side of Chicago and the adjacent suburbs and will showcase the significant improvements made to the cycling infrastructure. The ride will explore picturesque trails such as the North Branch Trail Extension and the Sauganash Bike Path, and the camping sites will be located at two spots that are not open to the public. Out Our Front Door will provide all food and meals.

Printed maps may be useful during events like this, and local Print shops may be able to offer printing services needed by such event organizers.

The bike camp is scheduled for June 16 through 18. The meeting location is at North Park Village Nature Center, located at 5801 North Pulaski Road, Chicago, just six miles from Morton Grove. Adult tickets are $75, and child tickets are $50.
