A holiday with historic roots is preparing to welcome interested parties in McHenry next week, helping attendees discover the holiday’s ties to Halloween.
The Celebrate Samhain with Bright Nest gathering will offer a unique Pagan cultural experience and help individuals of Celtic descent explore their roots and heritage. The gathering will provide several unique experiences, including accessing an ancestral altar and enjoying the soothing effects of a seasonal simmer pot.
Attendees can use the ancestral altar by bringing small photos or belongings of loved ones to contribute to the collection. The space is designed to honor the memories of these individuals. Guests will also learn how to make simmer pots, with the kit they make being available to take home for future use. Brochure printing can offer directions to visitors who want to continue making simmer pots and other crafts at home after such events.
Complimentary cider will be available to ensure guests remain hydrated and comfortable with the seasonal beverage. Shelby, the owner of Bright Nest, will attend the Samhain celebrations while offering card readings to registered guests. The goal is to help attendees let go of the past and welcome the new.
Bright Nest will host the celebrations next Friday, November 1. Guests are welcome to arrive at 4:00 PM. Attendance is free, and interested parties can receive updates online.
