Murder mystery experience challenges McHenry sleuths
A murder mystery experience is coming to McHenry in the middle of the spooky season, and amateur sleuths in town will want to sign up to put their skills to the test.
The McHenry Murder Mystery: The Final Reel is preparing to welcome participants in a few weeks, providing these individuals with a crime to solve. The guests will use their investigative skills to piece clues together and solve the mystery. Clues will be divulged through different puzzles, live interactions, and video clues.
The case will take participants throughout downtown McHenry to get to the bottom of the case and determine the identity of the murderer. The experience combines elements of an escape room, scavenger hunt, and murder mystery into one grand afternoon. Poster printing is a creative way to combine images with text to promote such events around the community.
To prevent overcrowding, organizers have provided staggered check-in times between 10:00 AM and noon. The event is expected to take between three and four hours to complete. Participants aged 13 and older are welcome to register for the mystery. Children who are 12 and under are welcome to participate in the scavenger hunt portion.
The event will begin at The Vixen in downtown McHenry at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 4. Adult tickets cost $20 per person, while children’s scavenger hunt tickets are $5 online.
