IAEA student show traveling across state

From Springfield to McHenry, schools and public facilities throughout Illinois will get to experience the artwork of the 2017-2018 Illinois Art Education Association (IAEA) Student Art Show winners through the end of this year.

The IAEA art show features pieces created by students from kindergarten right through to high school, including art created by special needs students, that have been submitted by art teachers in Illinois.

For the 2017-2018 period, the association received over 720 submissions, which consisted of two-dimensional pieces that ranged from graphic design artwork, to hand-painted pieces. Out of these, 40 pieces throughout all grade levels and five submitted by students with special needs were selected, framed, mounted, and displayed at the IAEA Conference on December 2nd of last year.

This show will be going through places such as the Lisle Library, the Amita Adventist Hinsdale Medical Center, and the Palatine Public Library until August 2018.

For more information about the student show, to view the pieces that were selected for the 2017-2018 show, or to learn more about submissions for the 2018-2019 period, visit the IAEA website.

For those who are interested in submitting, the submission period will start on February 5th and will continue until April 23rd. Submissions must consist of artwork that was created in class and can only be made by teachers who are part of the IAEA organization.
