Witches continue riding tradition in Lyons

Halloween is around the corner, and Lyons residents will want to keep their eyes peeled for local witches taking a ride through town in the coming weeks.

The 2nd Annual La Grange Area Witches Ride is in the works. It will bring together witches from the surrounding area for a fun and celebratory ride through town. The participating witches will gather on their bikes and wear their witch’s Apparel before reconvening at The Elm to continue the festivities with food, drinks, and live music from El Rando.

The event, planned by the La Grange Area Historical Society, will aim to cast a spell of merriment on the people and buildings along several streets in town. Enchantresses are encouraged to gather friends and family members to participate in the new and growing tradition. Flyer printing is a fun and celebratory way to spread awareness of such events in town.

Registered guests should pick up their wristbands the day before the ride, and all participants must sign a waiver before proceeding. All participants must be 16 or older to sign up, and each guest must bring their own bicycle for the ride.

The witches will gather on the 400 Block of Madison Avenue on Saturday, October 5th, at 1:00 PM. The ride and celebrations will conclude at 4:00 PM. Interested parties can RSVP online for $75 per guest.
