A unique and musical 5K event is coming to the Lyons region, and area residents are encouraged to dust off and lace their running shoes for a good time.
The Corrida del Mariachi 5K Run will begin in a few weeks. Participants will walk, run, or dance to the music produced by DJs and mariachi bands lining the route. The 2024 version of the event will be the fifth iteration of the Mariachi 5K.
The route will take all registered guests through tree-lined streets, and runners and walkers will be cheered by enthusiastic spectators and lively entertainment. Traditional folkloric dancers and DJs will join the band to create festive music and noise to motivate participants.
An after-party is planned for individuals as they cross the finish line to continue the celebrations. Banner printing is a fantastic way to display sponsor logos and welcome each finisher to the finish line at running and walking events like this.
Vendors will attend the event to sell food and refreshing beverages to spectators and runners. Attendees can also purchase crafts from local vendors. The event is suitable for families, with several games being organized for children.
The 5K will start in the North Berwyn Park District on Saturday, August 17th, beginning at 8:00 AM and ending at 11:00 AM. Untimed registration costs $45, and interested parties can register online.
