Classic broom-making classes offered in Lyons

Lyons residents who want to learn a practical and classic skill will want to save the date, as a local artisan is offering broom-making classes next month.

The Traditional Broom Making with Lozen workshop is set to offer new skills and knowledge in Lyons this autumn while raising funds for a local organization. Students who enroll will be given step-by-step instructions and immersive learning opportunities from the course leader on creating a magical broom to take home.

The money raised at the broom making workshop will go to Sacred Space for Animal Sanctuary and Rescue. Lozen BrownBear will lead the class, sharing their knowledge and providing the history and lore surrounding traditional brooms. Students will learn how to use their brooms to clear negative energy from their personal spaces and set their intentions for a positive day. Brochure printing is an organized way to provide more information and instructions to students who attend such workshops.

The cost of enrollment covers all supplies, including the natural sticks and broomcorn. Guests can bring personal items to adorn their brooms to make them more special. The event has limited spots, and interested parties should book while they remain.

Darla’s Deli and Cafe of Lyons is hosting the broom making workshop on Sunday, September 28th, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Tuition costs $65 per student.
