The Frankfort Bluegrass Festival is returning to town on the stages at Prairie Park and Breidert Green.
There will be 15 bands giving a total of 40 performances. Among the performers will be The Grateful String Band, Jim Lauderdale & The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys, Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band, and Wheels North. The festival is free and made possible by volunteers. Some of the sponsors of the event include the Village of Frankfort, Down Home Guitars, Frankfort Chamber of Commerce, and Bourgeois Guitars.
The International Bluegrass Musical Association named the festival as Best Event of the Year in 2019. It was also nominated for this award in both 2016 and 2017, and is the only event in the Midwest to reach the top five nominations.
The festival will also have an activity area for children in Prairie Park in the open green space. Children from toddlers to teens will be able to play games, make crafts, and enjoy the performances. The Down Home Guitar tent will also have bluegrass instruments for children to try out and learn more about.
Poster printing can be used to promote such special and unique events throughout a community.
Bands will perform from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm this Saturday, July 13, and from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 14.
