Frankfort hosts list of festive October events

Frankfort will be hosting a host of seasonal events next month.

The Senior Fall Luncheon will take place at the Founders Community Center and will celebrate the colors of the season. There will be a catered lunch and Culver’s of Frankfort will provide some sweet treats. There will be live entertainment with the promise of providing a welcoming and festive setting. The luncheon is for those 55 years of age and older and will be on Friday October 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Community organizations, homeowners’ associations, scout groups, and families are invited to participate in the annual Scarecrow Building Contest. The Founders Community Center will display these scarecrows outside. The Park District will provide the cross sticks, which are now available. Entries are due by Friday October 9 and voting on the scarecrows will take place from Tuesday October 13 through Thursday October 29.

The Founders Community Center will be the location for the family-friendly Halloween Bash. Featured at this event will be a balloon artist, a DJ dance party, spooky games, inflatables, crafts for kids, a hayride, and a small pumpkin patch, among other activities. Attendees are encouraged to wear their costumes for Halloween. This will be from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday October 16.
