The village of Frankfort is hosting several events of the season this month.
Such unique events are often promoted with poster printing.
The first is the annual Scarecrow Building Contest. Business members, homeowners’ associations, scout groups, and families are invited to participate in this event. Cross sticks for the scarecrows will be provided by the Park District. The scarecrows submitted will be displayed outside the Founders Community Center.
Entries are due by Wednesday, October 9 and voting will take place between Thursday, October 10 and Thursday, October 31. Those wishing to vote for the scarecrows can do so on the Facebook page of the Park District, or at the Founders Community Center.
The next event will be a friendly activity for Halloween—the Thriller at Founders Center. There will be a balloon artist, spooky games, inflatables, a dance party with a DJ, a hayride, crafts for kids, and a small pumpkin patch. There will be two sessions – one from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm and the other from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, both on Friday, October 11. Registration is due by this Sunday, October 6.
Finally, there will be Howl-A-Woof at the Bark Park at Commissioners Park. People can bring their dogs dressed in spooky costumes for a competition. There will be trick or treating for dogs, and a bone yard hunt. This will be on Saturday, October 12 beginning at 10:00 am.
