Pets and a train ride to feature in festive Frankfort events

Frankfort continues to celebrate the holiday season with several events this month.

Such festive events are often promoted throughout a community with poster printing.

Paws with Claus will enable residents to bring the family pet and their cameras for a photograph with Santa Claus. Attendees need to bring an item for an animal in need that will be donated to Cache Creek Animal Rescue.

This event will be held at the Founders Community Center on Saturday December 9 from 1:15 to 4:45pm. No registration is required.

There will also be the Polar Express Storytime Train taking place in the community. This event is sponsored by the Frankfort Park District and will enable families to take a special ride to the ‘North Pole’.

During the trip, the story of the Polar Express will be told, and elves will be busy making balloon animals. Santa Class will be there to greet guests at the North Pole, and will then travel back on the train accompanied by holiday cookies and music.

Registration is required for this event, with a limit of six tickets per household. The cost of tickets is $20 for residents of the Frankfort Park District, and $25 for non-residents if tickets are still available.

The Polar Express Storytime Train will have two departures—one at 9:30am on Sunday December 10, and the other at 11:20am the same day from Hickory Creek Metra Station. This can be found on Hickory Creek Drive in nearby Mokena.
