Preliminary plans for the Misty Creek Township Development have been approved by the Village Board of Frankfort.
The project will feature 32 town homes on a vacant area on the northwest corner of 116th Avenue and Laraway Road. The development will have 10 duplexes, as well as four homes reaching three stories high. The project will also require a new public road to be built to be called Mistry Creek Lane, which will connect both 116th Avenue and Laraway Road.
More details and floor plans of such new homes and developments are often provided with brochure printing.
The board also changed the zoning use of the project from general commercial to single-family attached residential. Margaret Farina, a Trustee, said that changing this land use to residential is the right move for the property. She added that she believes this will be a better use for the land as besides homes, there is a school there and a path to Old Plank Trail. She would also like to see a planned dog park as part of the development plans for the project.
Flaherty Builders is the applicant for the development. Flaherty Builders, based in Mokena, is a developer of luxury homes in the Chicago area, including Orland Park, Lemont, New Lenox, and Frankfort. Its most recent development in the area is Frankfort Meadows.
