New assisted living facility to be developed in Frankfort

The Board of Trustees of the village of Frankfort has approved the building of an assisted living facility on W. Lincoln Highway.

This facility, to be known as Oasis Senior Living, will have 82 residential living units. There will be four units with two bedrooms, 21 units with one bedroom, and 31 units will be studios. There will also be 26 memory care units. Such projects often turn to brochure printing to provide more information about such units and their features.

As there were some concerns from residents in the area about the proposed facility, the staff at Oasis Senior Living made some adjustments to the original plan which had been presented to the Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals. There will be an increase in the size of landscape buffers thereby adding more green space, adjusting the times of delivery trucks to come later in the morning, moving the trash enclosure for the facility further away from the town homes of residents, and adding a retaining wall.

John Burica, Assistant Village Administrator, welcomed the concerns of the public and said the new project is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan of the village. He added that the public had come to the meeting of the board, had expressed their concerns, and these issues have now been addressed.
