Frankfort will be holding two special events this month as the warmer temperatures begin.
Poster printing is popular for such towns to advertise and promote such events to residents.
The first will be the annual Arbor Day and Earth Day celebration. Jim Holland, mayor of Frankfort, said that the village is encouraging residents to spend the day cleaning the community. There will be supplies such as garbage Bags and gloves and a free tee-shirt available at Village Hall for people to pick up prior to the event.
There will also be prizes given out such as one for the dirtiest resident, the most trash collected, the strangest item collected, and the largest item collected. Students who participate will also be able to earn hours for community service. This event will be held on Saturday April 24.
The next day the Frankfort County Market will open. Holland said it will be like last year in terms of following the governor’s guidelines but that could change as the summer progresses. The market will feature baked goods, gourmet products, prepared foods, and plants and will be held in the parking lots at Breidert Green and at 1 N. White Street.
The market will be held every Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. until October 24 and will not be held on July 4, July 11, and September 5.
