The Old Plank Road Trail 5K Run and Walk will be held virtually next month in Frankfort.
Banner printing is often used throughout a town to advertise and promote such virtual events.
Those interested in this event will walk or run 3.1 miles one day during the specified week. Participants can run the official Old Plank Road Trail course or select a course of their own and keep track of their run or walk with a specially designed app on their phone and a connected wearable device. Once the walk or run has been completed, participants take a selfie and send it to the village of Frankfort.
The Old Plank Road Trail is USATF certified and runs through the center of town. It will start and end at the intersection with White Street.
The cost to participate in the event is $15 for adults 11 years of age and older and $10 for children. Runners and walkers are encouraged to take pictures of their race and share with the community.
The event will run from Saturday, October 3 to Saturday, October 10. Finishers of the event will receive a race T-shirt and a medal, which will be available for collection at the Village of Frankfort Administration Building from Monday, October 12 through Friday, October 16 between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
