Frankfort will be holding its Old Plank Road Trail 5K this weekend.
The cost to register for this event prior to the race is $10 for those 10 years old and younger, and $15 for those 11 years old and older. On the day of the event, it will be $20. Those wishing to register can do so online or in person at Frankfort Village Hall.
The race is certified by the USATF and starts east of White Street on Old Plank Road Trail in downtown Frankfort. Those in the race will continue on the trail to the point where the east/west trail meets the north/south trail and then take the trail back to the start of the race, which also serves as the finish line. Local Print shops may be hired to create printed maps of such routes to enable runners to get acquainted with them prior to a race.
Check-in and registration on race day will begin at 8:00 am at Breidert Green. The race will start at 9:30 am and there will be an awards ceremony at 10:30 am. There will be awards for both female and male winners in eight different age categories. An award will also be given to the man and women who is the overall winner for the race.
This event will take place tomorrow, October 2, rain or shine.
