Frankfort closes out summer with a couple of parties

As the summer season dwindles down and children and their parents begin to think of school, the village of Frankfort is getting ready to celebrate with two parties.

The first party is the last in the Party in the Park series for this year. ‘Dog Days of Summer’ is set to feature fun for people of all ages. It will take place on August 8 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Windy Hill Park.

Along with a DJ dance party, children’s activities and games and the chance to adopt a new pet, several rescue organizations will be on hand to provide information and to collect donations. Guests are also asked to bring a pet toy or other item to be donated to a local shelter.

Later on in the month is the 7th annual Back to School Bash. It will take place at Commissioners Park on August 19 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. It will feature field and carnival games, craft activities, and an inflatable ride. There will also be music from the B96 Street Crew, food for sale, and a “touch a truck” activity. Those attending are asked to donate a school supply, which will be given to the Frankfort Area Jaycees School Supply Drive.

Frankfort rescue organizations may be handing our printed material provided by a local printing company.

Both of these events are hosted by the Frankfort Park District. Contact Cali De Bella at 815-469-9400 for more information.
