Four-tenant commercial building to open in Frankfort

The Frankfort Village Board has approved a major change to the multi-tenant commercial building on N. White Street that will enable the project to continue to move forward.

The Board also granted a variance for a requirement of off-street parking and approved several special permits for special use inside the building.

The building will span 8,500 square feet and will be a multi-tenant commercial building. There will be spaces for four tenants and will include two carry-out restaurants, a full-service restaurant with liquor sales, and a dental office. Such sites often benefit from banner printing used to announce new tenants and their products and services.

Rustic Knead, Nautical Bowls, and Senso Sushi have received special use permits. Rustic Knead and Nautical Bowls are carry-out restaurants with outdoor seating, and Senso Sushi will be a full-service restaurant with outdoor seating and liquor sales. Growing Smiles will be the fourth tenant.

The development was approved originally in 2018 and called for a building to span over 11,000 square feet. It was also to be located on Smith Street, but when the Frankfort Village Board announced that part of the building on N. White Street was surplus, it was authorized to be sold for the purpose of redevelopment. Dan Eliot, the applicant for the project, said it has changed substantially from its original plan using feedback gathered and updating accordingly.
