Two events are coming to the Frankfort area this month.
The third Zacamo Bowl will be hosted by the Zac Plantz Foundation at Providence Catholic High School on W. Lincoln Highway in New Lenox. This is a family-friendly fundraising and flag football tournament. Such events are often promoted throughout a community and the area with poster printing.
Participants can create flag football teams or simply be there to watch the tournament. There will also be inflatables for the kids, the vendor village to enjoy, a dunk tank, food, obstacle courses, and music. This event is designed to help with the fundraising efforts of the Zac Plantz Foundation which is a non-profit that is dedicated to guiding young women and men who are committed to creating a better future. The event will take place on Saturday, August 5 beginning at 9:00 am.
Later in the day, the German American Heritage Center in Frankfort will be holding an Alpine Fest. There will be a special dance performance by the Egerländer Dance Group and music by the Boys and Girls from Illinois and Eddie Korosa, Jr. German food and beverages will be available for purchase. Tickets are $12 for members, $15 for non-members, and those under 18 enter at no cost.
Doors will open at 5:00 pm with music beginning at 6:00 pm. The event will be held outdoors, weather permitting.
