Art gallery opens in Frankfort

The new gallery of the Frankfort Arts Association (FAA) is now opened on Kansas Street in Frankfort.

Featured at the new gallery, Studio C, will be artwork form those who belong to the FAA. The first exhibit will be called “Recently” and will provide new perspectives, highlight that which is taken for granted, and honor the current times. There will be artwork available for purchase.

Studio C will also be offering to the public and members of the FAA featured activities and classes this coming spring. Among these will be monthly drum circles, drawing classes, introduction to watercolors, and Process Art Mondays, which will enable students from middle and high school to express themselves through various artistic mediums. Such special events and activities can be promoted throughout a community with flyer printing.

Katie Stempniak, president of the FAA, said that the gallery space is being used rent free thanks to Todd and Cindy Morgan. They own the space and rent it on the weekends for events, such as bridal and baby showers and corporate events. Stempniak said that this will offer more exposure for the artists when they attend these events and will showcase the diversity there is the community.

The FAA is holding an exhibit of student work which is on display at the Frankfort Village Hall through Thursday March 24.
