The Chicago River system is about to get a good spring clean, and Evanston residents are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and join in the project.
On Chicago River Day, sites throughout the state will be getting some attention. The whole family is asked to be part of one of the clean-ups, which will take place in Blue Star Memorial Woods, and there is no cost to get involved.
In their description of the event, the organizers explained that each person who lends a hand will receive a T-shirt that sports a graphic design featuring the activity’s mascot, which is a Blanding’s turtle. Everyone who is age eight and up can take part, but will need to be registered and accompanied by an adult. Appropriate footwear and clothing are recommended, and the participants may also wish to bring along gloves that are sturdy enough for the task at hand.
Environmental stewardship projects give community members an opportunity to show some love to Mother Nature. A printer that prepares Corporate Gifts will have an assortment of environmentally friendly options for swag to be handed about at this sort of activity.
The 2022 Chicago River Day Clean Up has been scheduled for the morning of May 14. There is no registration fee, and additional information about the timings, locations, and other details can be found on its online listing.
