Evanston residents who want to get a jump start on their holiday shopping can make plans for a pop-up makers’ market.
This will be the sixth year in which this Evanston Made initiative has been held, and the October date wraps up the organization’s schedule for 2024. It has been planned for 1800 Maple Avenue, and its listing bills it as one of the area's most fun and accessible community shopping events.
While the activity will take place outdoors, it will be under cover, so bad weather will not be a problem. There will be hundreds of items available, and the public can meet local artists and artisans, learning about the creative processes of this eclectic mix. Parking and admission will both be free.
The organizers of the day have put out a call to all local creatives interested in offering their works for sale. The reservation fee for a space starts at $75, and a special price is available to those age 25 and under. A sponsorship program is also in place. Information packets for companies interested in serving as sponsors for an activity like this can be compiled by area brochure printing companies.
The upcoming Evanston’s Makers’ Market is scheduled for Saturday, October 6. Additional information for potential vendors is available on the function's registration system.
