Evanston residents asked to help make holidays happy for all

The holiday season is often a tough time for those in need, and an Evanston campaign will give the public a variety of ways they can make a difference.

A food, book, and toy drive has been scheduled for the city, and many of its businesses and not-for-profit groups have joined forces for the cause. Monetary contributions, as well as gifts in kind, will be appreciated, and those who choose to participate will be able to enjoy the warm feeling that often goes hand in hand with helping others.

There will be drop-off stations set up in the lobby of at least 15 area organizations. A selection of businesses have chosen to join the fun by offering a discount on items purchased for donation. Financial contributions can be made online or by Mailing in a check.

In addition to asking for donations of food, toys, and Books, the campaign will include a sale of holiday greeting cards. Stationery printers can be counted on to supply these sorts of items, and their teams can even prepare a special graphic design just for the occasion.

Having got underway last week, this opportunity will run until December 13. The City of Evanston’s website has been updated with the latest details about this activity, and it also includes information for families who would like to receive toys and food.
