Plans are underway in Evanston for an activity that will wish the USA a happy birthday, and the theme for this year will be “Truth Guides, Justice Unites, Kindness Heals.”
The city’s Fourth of July Association has organized this year's celebration so that it offers something for almost every age and interest. It will include a parade with three grand marshals selected for the honor based on their service to their community.
The day will officially start with morning games scheduled for six different locations, and a kids’ fun run is also in the works for the afternoon. Tennis fans can take in the finals organized by the Evanston Community Tennis Association, and a parade will add further excitement. The Palatine Concert Band will be performing in the evening at Dawes Park, and the celebration will be capped off with a fireworks show and more music.
