Evanston is known as a community that cares, and those who call the city home are asked to show their generosity in an event that will help locals in need.
The city will once again be hosting an activity that will raise funds for its emergency overnight shelters, and to help make sure it is safe for everyone, it has been converted from a Walk for Warmth to a Ride For Warmth. Everyone who would like to help is encouraged to register for the vehicle parade, and they can choose to drive the entire route or just a section of it.
The families, individuals and businesses that take part are welcome to decorate their entry, and they will meet up at 2100 Ridge Avenue before they hit the road. The route will be two miles long, and will follow a circuit that will take drivers by the overnight shelters operated by Interfaith Action of Evanston.
Whether they choose to get involved directly or lend a hand by making a monetary donation, all support for this initiative will be appreciated. Large and colourful Banners can draw even more attention to this sort of activity, and they can be sourced from area banner printing companies.
The date for this community fundraiser will be January 18, and pre-registration is mandatory. Further details about the function can be found on its Patch listing.
