Winter is a time when many gardeners make their plans for the upcoming spring, and those who call Evanston home may want to include a special event on their agenda.
The Wicker Park Advisory Council has put the word out to the community that there will be a plant sale fundraiser this May, and it will take place just in time for spring planting. It offers a fun activity to enjoy on Mother’s Day weekend, and it will be held rain or shine.
The fundraiser, which will support the garden at Wicker Park, will see volunteers aid members of the public in choosing from the various vegetable, perennial, and annual transplants that will be on sale, and they can offer planting tips and other advice as well. The plants will all be non GMO, and Wicker Park Garden Club members will be vetting the seedlings so that healthy and strong ones will be sold to the public.
A plant sale gives a horticulture club a way to both raise money and share its members' knowledge with others who are just getting started. Offering the attendees Promotional Products such as gardener’s supply checklists, plant tags, and care sheets, and clothing for volunteers may all be sourced from a local printing services provider.
The Wicker Park Garden Club has invited one and all to attend this special event, which will be held on May 8. It will begin at 10:00 am at 1425 N. Damen Avenue in Chicago, and it will wrap up at 6:00 pm.
