Many gardeners get excited about spring planting, and may order more plants and seeds than they have room for. An upcoming event will see them swap their extras for something new.
A Plant Swap is on the way to Evanston, and both indoor and outdoor plants, as well as produce, will be exchanged. Everyone is welcome at the Robert Crown Branch of the Evanston Library, which will be the location for the afternoon.
Those who plan on attending the “BYOP” (bring your own plant) activity will find themselves surrounded by others who share their interest in home horticulture. They can share tips and advice, and may bring along a rooted cutting to exchange. This will help to fill their beds without breaking the bank. All types of indoor plant starts – as well as fruit, vegetable and flower seeds – are welcome, and those who plan on coming out are reminded to bring their contribution in a pot they are happy to give away.
An informal activity can provide a fun introduction to a particular pastime. A poster printing company can be tasked with preparing marketing materials for many types of occasions, and can accommodate most budget levels.
The Evanston Plant Swap will be kicking off another gardening season on Saturday, April 1. It will run from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
