Evanston event to offer alfresco dining fun

For the past two years, Evanston has offered the public the chance to celebrate summer’s arrival, and it will be bringing the event back with a new twist.

The 3rd annual Takeout Picnic will be on offer next week, and it is scheduled to be held at 2100 Central Street. This year, it will take place in a parking lot, and the seating will be arranged so as to encourage connection and conversation between the guests.

Those who would like to be part of the fun can purchase their supper at one of the eateries located near the venue, either choosing an old favorite or trying something new. Those who arrive early will be able to get first choice of the seating, and anyone who would like to purchase some wine or beer can do so when they order their food or buy their drink at either Vinissimo Wine Shop or Beer on Central. Advance registration, though not required, will make it easier for the organizers when planning the event.

Parking for the occasion is being supplied courtesy of Chase Bank, and diners may leave their vehicle in the bank’s lot located at the corner of Green Bay Road and Central Street. Banner printing services for a large outdoor activity will be on offer at a printing services company.

The annual alfresco dining event will be welcoming foodies on Thursday, June 20. The festivities are scheduled to kick off at 5:30 pm.
