There are lots of organizations in the Evanston area that can use a helping hand, and they will be offering the members of the public a chance to find out how they can make a difference in the lives of others.
Over 85 community service groups from Chicago and the areas that surround it have registered to participate in the 2019 Chicago Volunteer Expo. With so many options open to them, those who attend may be able to find a position that is just right for them.
Representatives from groups involved in the arts, the environment, and many other areas will be manning the different displays, and will share information, answer questions and some may even be accepting volunteer registrations. Promotional Pens and other swag can all be printed with the logo designs of the various organizations, and these can be distributed to anyone who stops and asks for further details.
While they browse through the various booths, the members of the public who come to the event will have a chance to perform some community service, right on site. They can craft sleeping mats that can be used by homeless people, make cheery cards for kids in the hospital, and donate items to an area food pantry.
Evanston is well known for the generous spirit of its residents, and they are invited to come to this event, which will be held on February 24. The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum has been chosen to host the occasion.
