Deadline to nominate Evanston residents for award looming

The City of Evanston is currently accepting nominations for the Aging Well Award

This is an award for residents of the city who have performed outstanding acts or have helped greatly in the community when it comes to older adults.

The deadline for nominations is February 29 and the winner will be selected by the Evanston Aging Well Conference Planning Committee.

The award will be handed out at the Aging Well Conference to be held at the Merion on May 6 from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. This free conference is set to feature a continental breakfast, keynote speakers, and the choice of two workshops on topics like healthy aging and support. Registration will open next month and the maximum number of attendees will be 175. Later on in the evening at 7:00 PM, there will be a screening of the film ‘Alive Inside’, about the importance of music in the healing of the mind.

Anyone in the city who is older and who works with the elderly is eligible to win this award. Last year's winner was Gerri Sizemore. It is likely that the award will include a printed certificate, and it may be provided by one of the Evanston printing companies.
