Northwest style pizza place comes to Meridian

Blue Tiger Pizza recently opened on Eagle Road in Meridian, adding a feel of the Pacific Northwest to the community.

Co-owner Dylan Hutter sold two restaurants he owned in Portland and brought in a team from Seattle and Portland, so he could open the restaurant and also be closer to family.

The pizza is of the Neapolitan style, and is made in-house and proofed for three days. Eagle Road Creamery, a neighbor of the eatery, provides some of the cheeses. Huttler said the pizzas are extremely hot when they leave the oven, as the cooking temperature is between 600 and 700 degrees. Due to this intense heat, less than five minutes are needed to cook the pizzas.

There are more classic pizzas, such as ham and pineapple, and pepperoni, but other signature pies are also available. One of these, for example, is the Pig Destroye,r with Applewood bacon, smoked ham, peppers and jalapenos, and provolone and mozzarella cheeses. Breakfast pizzas are also offered late in the morning.

There are four beers on tap, as well as a beer list with micro brews, imports, and many local brews.

Blue Tiger Pizza has takeout but has plans to incorporate UberEats, which has recently opened in Boise.
