What was once the Union 93 development in Meridian will now become a mixed used development with retail and Class A office space, public plazas, and two multifamily residential towers. It is on the southeast corner of Main Street and Broadway Avenue and will be called Heritage Square.
Such sites frequently use banner printing to update residents on projects that have been revived and their benefits for the community.
The name of the project reflects a desire to honor the history of Meridian while building its future. Featured in the project will be open gathering spaces, public art, and a design friendly to pedestrians.
The property was purchased in October 2025 by The Pacific Companies and Ahlquist. The design of the project is being led by Babcock Design and the general contractor for the project will be McAlvain Companies.
The Pacific Companies, with headquarters in Eagle, has developed over 15,000 square feet of retail space in downtown Meridian while Ahlquist is known for redeveloping a site in downtown Boise known as the “Boise Hole” into the 8th and Main tower.
This announcement was welcomed by Robert Simison, mayor of Meridian, who said that this project is envisioning downtown Meridian and highlighting how attractive it can be. He added that he is now extremely optimistic about the future of the city’s downtown.
