Meridian site to host multipurpose development

Ground has been broken on the District at Ten Mile, a major new hub for dining, shopping, and entertainment off Ten Mile Road in Meridian.

The project is across from the existing District at Ten Mile on a lot spanning about 200 acres. It is designed to serve one of the busiest growth corridors in the region and will be built in two phases. Such sites often benefit from banner printing to inform residents of upcoming developments.

During the first phase, a Lifetime Fitness facility, a new Target, and two hotels will be built offering approximately 650,000 square feet of retail space that will have restaurants like Taco Bell and In-N-Out Burger. The project will also emphasize family-friendly amenities and community spaces.

The project is being led by Ahlquist Development. Tommy Ahlquist, its CEO, said the location was selected to meet demand in the heart of the rapid expansion in Merdian. Robert Simison, mayor of Meridian, said this will be a central hub for everyone in the city, as it will have everything that people need and want, including recreation, living spaces, and jobs. He added that regardless of where people live in Meridian, they will easily be able to come to the new development.

The first phase of the project is expected to be completed and open to the public by spring of next year.
