Two recent events will enable the Linder Village project in Meridian to start the next phases of construction.
The principal on the project from High Desert Development, Joe Huarte, said that one of these was the securing of its bonds. The other is the State Tax Anticipated Revenue (STAR) program from the state of Idaho which requires a developer to pay for a major road improvement project. Funds for this are collected by the businesses and stores participating in the project and then paid back to the developer.
Linder Village will be a mixed-use lifestyle community of office space, retail buildings, and drive-thru locations with a residential component planned to complete the community. It is located at the intersection of Linder Road and Chinden Boulevard. WinCo Foods will be the anchor for the Linder Village. A new public library that will be 15,000 square feet in area is also planned for the community. Brochure printing is often provided to those who might be interested in leasing space at such properties.
Roadway improvements will include the widening of Chinden Boulevard to five lanes from North Linder Road, eventually to North Locust Grove Road. Before the end of the year, there are also plans to widen Linder Road from Cayuse Creek north to Chinden Boulevard.
The project, including the library, is expected to open in the summer of 2021.
