Formerly known as Linder Village, the mixed-use development project currently underway in Meridian will now be known as Orchard Park.
Michael Slavin, a project consultant with Noun, said that the new name better reflects the basic elements of the project. He said the project includes over five acres of public space and many amenities people can enjoy. The family roots of the developer of the project, Joe Huarte, were in agriculture, primarily through the nut farms and orchards central to the founding of Meridian. Logo Design is often used to enhance the significance of such a name change.
Orchard Park will be anchored by WinCo, a locally owned and operated supermarket based in Boise, and will have a new branch of the Meridian library. The project will have a main street with small shops and offices to give the feel of a downtown. There will be several retail outlets for banks, fast food, and other similar businesses lining Linder Road and Chinden Boulevard.
Residential units will consist of 33 custom homesites and townhomes designed to optimize natural light and livable space, and provide the ultimate living experience. A walking path will ring the site and border the busy corridor of Linder Road and Chinden Boulevard.
The library and WinCo will be the first properties to undergo construction.
