A new exhibition will be opening at the Initial Point Gallery in Merdian this month.
“Dance Studies” will showcase the artists of the Boise Open Studios Collective Organization (BOSCO). This exhibit will be a unique collaboration of dance and the visual arts. Its goal is to educate the public about the professionalism and passion of both disciplines, and highlight what they have in common and their ability to have an effect on people.
Such exhibits often turn to poster printing for promoting unique collaborative exhibits like this.
Cindi Walton, events chair at BOSCO, expressed excitement about partnering with Ballet Idaho. Walton said that this collaboration provides insight for the public, the dancers, and the artists into creative endeavors and into the worlds of dance and visual arts. Vice chair of the Meridian Arts Commission and a BOSCO artist, Brecken Bird, added that the artwork created for this exhibit will provide an opportunity for the community to have a unique inside view of dance and the visual arts.
There will be an artist reception with performances by dancers from Ballet Idaho on Tuesday, February 6. The reception will be from 4:30pm to 7:00pm, and the performances will be from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
Lori Stom, a respected alto flautist, will be providing the music, and refreshments will be served. The exhibit will run through Friday, March 29.
