Meridian company plans new restaurant offering

Crave Hospitality, based in Meridian, now has $7.3 million raised from investors to expand its offerings in the United States over the next two years.

CEO Devin Wade said the Meridian-based operations will focus on engineering, support and customer service while the individual facilities will accommodate the kitchens and delivery personnel. He explained that customers will order from their local restaurant using an app on their smartphones. Orders will be made in the local kitchen, put together, and then put in a vehicle to be delivered to the homes of the customers. Such offerings can be made known throughout a community with flyer printing.

Wade added their will be a large hub in meridian and a smaller one in Boise. He said that in larger cities there could be multiple hubs. He said that larger cities with above average household income and size and good demographics are considered cluster opportunities and might be part of a large metropolitan area. His company could focus in those neighborhoods where the number of places for dining out are limited.

Mike Self of StageDotO, which led the funding for the operation, said this concept has potential as it brings together the culinary and the delivery aspects. He added that the demand for such delivery of food has increased over the past five years and will continue to accelerate.
