A grant of $150,000 from the Sunderland Foundation, in addition to some of the $2.3m that has already been funded by the State of Idaho, is helping to update and expand the Sam and Aline Skaggs Health Science Center at Idaho State University in Meridian.
The clinics at the Center offer low-cost healthcare services to the community in the areas of dentistry, medication therapy management, counseling, and speech and language. The work is being carried out in two phases and will update décor and furnishings in the new clinic spaces, and enable new services to be offered. Flyer printing is often used to make available more details about such updates.
Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling will be the first new service and will help individuals with physical and emotional disabilities to achieve their goals in their careers and their personal, and independent living. Another new service will be the Psychopharmacology Clinic which will help patients suffering from a variety of mental health conditions that require medication with evaluation, psychotherapy and medication management. There will also be a Nutrition Services outpatient clinic for children, families, and adults that will provide nutrition therapy and wellness counseling.
The first phase of the renovations is expected to be completed this summer. The second phase will begin soon thereafter and is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
